The Reel Deal on "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"
What's the Reel Deal?: This film is all about the laughs. A funny story about a slave who wants his freedom, a master who wants a slave girl, a slave girl who is betrothed to a general, and a general who promises to kill everybody if things don't go just right. Of course things never go right.
Standing on the Podium: This one grabs a bronze. It's a funny plot and the characters do it justice. Unfortunately time has worn this one down and most of the jokes feel dry. While the movie dragged in an Oscar in 1967 it would be a direct to film release these days. If you are looking for old school slapstick comedy give it a shot.
